I'm writing a concept albumThe songs will be 10-12 parts of a story about an unnamed man who lives life trying to find meaning, but is unable to fill the emptiness he feels. He eventually dies, but makes a pact with the devil: in exchange for a second life with power, riches, and everything he could ever want, he must serve Satan's wishes for eternity. (hopefully that's not too cliche)
At first the man is happy, but he still feels terribly empty inside, and eventually realizes God is the only thing that will make him feel content and meaningful. It ends with a supernatural battle between God and Satan for the man's soul (with God obviously winning).
I'm still not sure on how each of the songs will work in the overall story, and I'm not certain many will feel my lyrics are that good, but ultimately I hope it's an interesting idea and I get "an 'A' for effort". (not to mention I have neither much musical talent or a friends to collaborate with - meaning these will just be lyrics).
